Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A violent clash broke out on Thursday morning in Kodalkathi village under Naoda police station in Murshidabad district following a land-related dispute. The incident occurred when 25-year-old Aziz Mandal was on his way to work in his field and had to cross through a neighbour’s jute field. Minor damage caused to the jute crop reportedly led to a heated argument between the two parties, which quickly escalated into a physical fight.
During the altercation, a shot was fired, and the bullet struck Aziz Mandal in the leg. Locals present at the spot rushed him to Amtala Rural Hospital, where he received initial treatment. Due to the severity of the injury, he was referred to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital for further medical attention.
Police reached the village following the incident and began an investigation. The identity of the person who fired the shot has not been confirmed yet. Security has been increased in the area to prevent any further disturbance. No arrests have been reported till the time of filing.
